~ hello walkers ~
We’re a couple of kiwi travellers who’ll hoon after any wee stroll, from the bush to the beach, from the mountains to the desert.
Wherever we are in the world, we’re definitely hungry, doubtlessly walking, and you can be damn sure we’re having a hectic time.
What are Walkies?
A silly term that we use to describe anything requiring a pair of shoes with a bit of grip, be it 30 minutes to a viewpoint, or 8 days on the trail with just you and your tent.
We believe walkies aren’t just about covering the maximum distance in the minimum time (though sometimes, you gotta). We see each one as an opportunity for new challenges, natural beauty and some dearly needed time to unplug from the world.
Why this blog?
We try not to take ourselves too seriously, but we are enjoying the opportunity to document some of what we’re seeing around the globe.
In some more remote locations, we’ve found that it can be a little difficult to get technical information on walks, both online and from locals. What better way to help others get walking than write up a guide?
Plus, we personally get a thrill out of reading others’ experiences… so continue on and peruse our wares for a sneak peek of the highs and lows of our travels.

our flavour of travel

Periodic Planners
Sometimes we go with the flow, sometimes we’ll find every wee detail we can. You’ll read stories of both in this blog – hopefully it’ll keep you entertained!

Worldwide Walkers
Our love of walkies drives a lot of our travel planning. We hope to share our love of the challenge with any readers, so more people can enjoy the outdoors confidently.

Thrifty Spenders
Who knew that gamifying your budget could bring two people so close together? We travel frugally but aim to contribute meaningfully and ethically to tourism industries.

Laid back Travelers
Like the sloth, we travel slow. Besides being more budget friendly, it’s a great way to get an honest and thorough feel for natural places and cities alike.

Big Eaters
So much of a culture is found in the food, and what a delightful way to experience it. We love new dishes, new recipes, and new ingredients.
