We are Awal and Emma and we love walkies! On Jan 1st 2025, we left our jobs and home in New Zealand to begin our journey of trekking around the world.

We created this blog to record our journey and to share our trekking adventures and experiences gained along the way. It’s a little bit to keep us entertained on the road, a little bit so that our memories don’t have to do quite so much work, and a little bit in the hope that some of our personal experiences will be helpful, insightful, or simply a bit of light entertainment for anyone who wants to have a read.

You’ll find an eclectic mix of mostly unedited writing on this blog… we’ve tried to put in concise summaries, but no promises! Somewhere in the mélange, you should be able find information on how to plan and complete treks; tips on how to stretch your money out longer; our thoughts on towns and cities; reviews on hiking and camping gear; and you will definitely read about the mistakes we’ve made along the way!
